Regarding question #478, the total number of simultaneous users that can be accommodated on our wireless network is unlimited. Telecommunications - all dorm rooms have telephone service provided. This phone service includes free voice mail and local calling. WebCT Vista Internet classes are available. Distance Learning Classroom is available for distance learning opportunities. Already acquired and soon to be implemented are classes created with CourseMaker Studio which is an award winning e-learning development software program. State-of-the-art criminal justice facility that has an electronic gun range and digital finger printing capabilities. Digital printing capabilities for poster or images from digital cameras and VCRs. Also have digital media convert and scanners for images on other media. Channel 2 TV station for College programming developed by students who are trained by the Office of Technology. Electronic IDs that are utilized by the Library, Food Services and secure dorm entrances. Ability to online: (1) view registration status, grades and transcripts, review charges and payments, review status of financial aid application, document requirements, and loans(2) modify addresses, marital status, PIN, and customize directory profileand (3) access WebCT Vista. Library electronic databases, electronic reserves, serial solutions and electronic books services are available online through EZProxy. Three full-time workstudy and workship students, along with one full time employee, are trained by the Office of Technology to assist other students with Internet connectivity and virus clean-up and containment. Help desk services, staffed by trained students, are maintained through the Office of Technology to assist students, academic, community with software, hardware and WVNet dial-up issues. |
