2008-2009 APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION

Freshman Student Admission

Students interested in first-year admission should:

  1. Complete this online application and return the printed application agreement statement with the $35 nonrefundable application fee. A high school guidance counselor may waive the application fee if it represents a hardship.
  2. Request that an official transcript of the current school record be forwarded to the college.
  3. Submit an official copy of either SAT I or ACT results. Nursing majors may submit results of the PAX-RN test.
  4. Applicants who have been graduated from high school more than two years prior to the date of entrance are required to include a statement of activities since graduation.
  5. An interview is not required but is recommended as part of an applicant's visit to campus.
  6. Letters of recommendation are not required, but can be helpful.
  7. For international students, the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) may be required.

General Educational Development (GED) Diploma

Applicants who have earned a diploma through the GED examination must submit an official copy of their test results in place of the high school transcript.


Transfer Admission

To apply as a transfer from another college, applicants should submit the following:

  1. Completed online application
  2. An application fee of $35 (applications will not be processed without the fee or fee waiver form)
  3. Official copies of all college transcripts
  4. An official high school transcript or equivalent
  5. If you have been out of college for one or more years, include a summary of your recent activities.
To be considered for transfer admission, students should have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale from an accredited institution. All transfer credit is awarded with the grades earned at the institution(s) previously attended. A maximum of 64 semester hours credit from a community college or junior college may be transferred.


Readmission

Students interested in being readmitted to the college must:

  1. Complete this online application
  2. Submit official transcripts of college work attempted since leaving D&E
  3. Complete readmission application supplement form

How to Use the Davis & Elkins College Online Application

To complete the online application, simply type your answers in the corresponding fields or select your answers from the popup lists (where applicable).

After you complete a screen, click the NEXT button at the bottom or on one of the sections listed on the left column to move to a different screen. Before you are allowed to jump screens, we will inspect your data on the current screen for errors or inconsistencies. If errors or omissions are found, you will be returned to the screen to correct your answer(s). Otherwise, your data will be saved and you will proceed to the requested screen. We also allow you to skip to another screen without your new data being saved. Be aware that if you use the Skip & Jump function on the left column, data on the current screen will not be saved and will have to be re-entered prior to submittal.
